2. Not a Certified Payroll Tool

This calculator is not a certified payroll system and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the CRA, the Ontario Ministry of Finance, Employment and Social Development Canada, Service Canada, or any other federal or provincial government body. It applies 2026 published rates and thresholds to estimate take-home pay under a defined set of simplified assumptions (see Section 3 below).

Actual payroll deductions calculated by your employer using a certified payroll system will almost always differ from the estimates produced by this tool. Your payslip is the authoritative source of your actual deductions. For official payroll deduction calculations, use the CRA's Payroll Deductions Online Calculator (PDOC) at canada.ca.

3. Assumptions and Limitations

This calculator produces estimates based on the following simplified assumptions. Results may differ materially from your actual net pay if any of these assumptions do not apply to your situation:

• You are an Ontario resident for the full tax year
• Your income is from employment only — no self-employment, investment income, rental income, capital gains, or other income sources
• Only the federal and Ontario basic personal amounts are applied as non-refundable tax credits
• No RRSP deductions, union dues, employer-provided benefits, pension plan contributions (other than CPP), or other deductions are included
• No additional federal or Ontario tax credits are applied (e.g., age amount, disability amount, tuition credits, charitable donation credits)
• The Ontario Low-Income Tax Reduction (LITR) is not applied
• CPP contributions are calculated as a single-employer employee for the full year up to the annual maximums
• EI premiums are calculated at the standard Ontario employee rate up to the maximum insurable earnings ceiling

Users with significant additional deductions, multiple income sources, or unique tax situations may find that the calculator underestimates or overestimates their actual take-home pay.

4. Tax Rate Accuracy and Currency

We make reasonable efforts to update this tool with published federal and Ontario tax rates, brackets, CPP contribution rates and ceilings, EI premium rates and maximum insurable earnings, and Ontario Health Premium thresholds as announced by the CRA and ESDC each year. The rates currently in use are sourced from 2026 CRA publications and ESDC announcements.

However, tax rules can change during the year through federal or provincial budget updates, legislative amendments, or administrative changes. We cannot guarantee that this tool reflects every in-year change at the moment it takes effect. If precise, up-to-date calculations are required, always consult official CRA sources or a qualified professional.
